I just got World of Warcraft running under Linux.

That is all.

But I did. I stepped on the bathroom scale.

I knew I'd been losing weight over the last three or so weeks, because my jeans were fitting looser, etc...

I've been out since June 8th. I haven't really been hungry much, so I haven't been eating much.

So, out of curiosity, I stepped on the bathroom scale before I took my shower after I got home this evening..

I've lost 22 lbs in the last 3 1/2 weeks.

I'm down to 219 lbs.

Should I be worried?

I can think of more than a few uses for one of these....

I say that (the subject) because, *GASP*, the Obamessiah actually said something that I can back 100%.

I never thought it would happen.

The President said, basically, that we need to leave Iran alone, and allow Iran to handle the troubles within Iran. That interfering with the situation by making condemnations or taking a position could provide the side that doesn't like us so much with a sticking point with which they could claim that the United States caused and influenced the revolutionary ideas within Iran.

I couldn't agree more. What's going on within Iran is none of our concern. If the people rise up and overthrow their leaders THAT IS THEIR CHOICE, and we should neither lend support nor stir the pot in any way.

I've said it before, I *LIKE* the man.. I (99.99999% of the time) disagree with his political positions. This is one small one that I can agree with.

I've often said we should let the rest of the world deal with their own defense and their own politics. Relations with other countries should be engaged in with the standing government, and should be restricted to subjects that directly affect the United States and its interests. Obama just mirrored my opinion on this subject.

So, the world must be ending. I agree with a Socialist Liberal Democrat.

I'm posting this publicly so that others might see that I'm not anti-Obama, but anti-Obama's-Politics. (A distinction they should've seen before they left.)

- I regret that, for the third year in a row, I have been unable to make it to Penguicon.
- I regret that, for whatever reason, I haven't made the right decisions in my life to make myself independently wealthy so I could make it to conventions when I wish.
- I regret that someone had to remind me that I'm not there, again, and ran the guilt trip saga on me. (You know who you are.)

Now that my retaliation is done...

- I regret not making it to Penguicon to meet all the people I wanted to meet this year. Seriously. It sucked being stuck in the truck and not getting the chance to finally put faces to IRC Nicknames and radio personalities.

Hopefully next year.

Just got off the phone with my folks.

Dad is doing MUCH better. It turns out the accident, somehow, sent his system out of whack and his coumadin levels went WAY too high, which was causing the swelling and bruising of the leg that hit the dash. The ulcerations were due to the blood not having anywhere to go, because it was SO thin.

The doctors took him off the coumadin for a few days while he was in the hospital and put him on Potassium to thicken his blood up. They also did a torso CAT scan and found some minor damage to his spleen and right kidney. Neither will require surgery; the temporary stoppage of the coumadin, plus the Potassium treatments, allowed his body to clot/repair the damage on its own.

He's now back on the coumadin, with some VERY strict instructions from his cardiologist about what he's allowed to eat, etc, so his heart can start coming back (he'd made drastic improvements after the heart attack a few years ago, which have since backslid). He's to lose some weight, change his diet, and get more exercise. Let's hope the stubborn bastard does it. ;)

Mom is in a bit of pain, but it's getting less and less by the day. The insurance company is picking up the tab for 24/7 nursing care at their home until she's able to do more for herself. The third surgery on her ankle will not be necessary, and there seems to be absolutely no neurological damage from her head hitting the windshield. (And you thought *MY* head was hard? Now you know where I get it from!)

Penelope (the Shih-Tzu) is doing alright. The vets are doing testing to see if she's suffered any neurological damage, because one minute she's fine, the next minute the air raid sirens go off and she's screaming like someone just stepped on her. She seems to be fine, physically, most of the time, so there's something else going on. They're not sure if it's just trauma (like she's remembering the accident) or if there's something else more serious going on.

Mom goes in for her second surgery today at 2:30.

Dad's leg isn't looking good at all. He's due to see the doctor Tuesday sometime.

I hope they decide to do something. I was worried before... now I'm really worried.

I've gained 20 lbs in the last two weeks. Stress, anyone?
